About The Position

Visiting Angels of Anniston is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout the local area, including Talladega, Munford, Anniston, Harpersville, Riverside, and Lincoln. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. Caregivers may assist with personal care and hygiene, exercise and mobility, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, and companionship. They also report health changes or unusual incidents and respond responsibly to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care are available to caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Ability and willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing dietary constraints.
• Handle light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a personal vehicle.
