About The Position

Visiting Angels Montgomery is seeking compassionate Live-in Home Health Aides to care for senior adults and others in need in Auburn and throughout the Central Alabama area. The role provides companionship and support with daily activities, including medication reminders, personal care, mobility, meal preparation, transportation, and light housekeeping. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate manner.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including for appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
