Live-in Home Health Aide - HHA (Cleveland, TX)
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Humble is hiring live-in Home Health Aides to serve clients in Cleveland, Splendora, New Caney, Hightower, Macedonia, Franklin, and surrounding local areas. Aides support clients’ wellness and quality of life in accordance with individualized care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, medication reminders, errands, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities may be available in dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. The posting describes flexible shift options, including full-time, part-time, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
- Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients, following applicable dietary constraints.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Report health changes or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
