About The Position

The Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 helps oversee store operations, support staff, and maintain a safe and welcoming shopping environment. The role works closely with the General Manager to lead, motivate, and develop employees, drive sales, and maintain high standards of store presentation. The position includes supervising assigned shifts, supporting customers, and assisting with daily store activities. It is full-time, onsite, and does not offer telework. Work hours vary and total 75 hours biweekly.

Requirements

One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or an Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or one year of lead retail sales work.
Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective employment date is not permitted to work for the PLCB; other criminal convictions are reviewed case by case.

Responsibilities

Manage store activities during assigned shifts and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Guide employees by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and offering direction.
Assist with receiving shipments and stocking products.
Help customers choose items.
Address customer questions and resolve concerns to maintain a positive shopping experience.
Keep the store clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff.
Help manage stock levels and maintain accurate product displays.
