About The Position
The Utica City School District is seeking qualified candidates for Summer Sports Camps (Lifeguard). This Youth Sports Summer Program features Basketball, Football, Baseball, Softball, Swimming, Track & Field, and Lacrosse. It is designed to keep youth active and safe during the summer, supporting the urban school district's broader mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. The program aims to address challenges in urban communities, such as limited access to safe recreational outlets, increased youth vulnerability, and a lack of structured programs. It promotes health and fitness through varied sports options, offers a safe and structured summer alternative, builds critical life skills and character, encourages academic and career exploration, increases equity and opportunity, and strengthens community and family ties.
Requirements
- Fingerprint Clearance
- Lifeguard certification
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of participants in and around the swimming area.
- Monitor activities in the swimming area to prevent accidents.
- Enforce rules and regulations for the safety and enjoyment of swimmers.
- Respond to emergencies and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
