About The Position
HJ Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses for high-impact travel contract opportunities. The role involves advanced vocational nursing work, providing care, treatment, and ongoing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, complex medical conditions, and behavioral health needs. This is a full-time travel contract position lasting six months, with potential options to extend. Flexible start dates are available, with five days’ advance notice required after clearance. The contract begins once all compliance and clearance requirements are met. Multiple openings are available across a seven-day schedule, Sunday through Saturday, with alternating shifts to support facility needs: day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (six openings) and evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (two openings).
Requirements
- Hold an active, unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license from Texas or an active compact state license.
- Have at least two years of nursing experience.
- Meet all Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) immunization requirements.
- Successfully pass HHSC-required drug screening.
- Complete HHSC fingerprinting and background checks.
- Complete required facility and HHSC onboarding training.
Responsibilities
- Safely administer medications and treatments.
- Educate patients on medication regimens.
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation.
- Accurately enter and track patient data in facility computer systems.
- Follow facility Standard Operating Procedures, ICF-IDD regulations, DSSLC policies and directives, and Texas HHSC standards, rules, and directives.
