About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Sonora, California. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting and involves providing general nursing care, assisting in patient care plans, performing clinical procedures, administering medications, and applying aseptic techniques. On-call duties may also be required.

Requirements

Active license: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in California required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required
Experience: At least two years of recent nursing experience in the field
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to work in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting
Weekend and weekday availability as noted

Nice To Haves

Arrhythmia certification preferred
Bachelor's degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

Provide general nursing care for assigned patients under supervision of a registered nurse or physician, following policy and nursing process
Assist in planning, implementing, and coordinating a patient care plan with an emphasis on safety and patient education
Perform assigned clinical procedures (phlebotomy, injections, drug screens) and administer medications as trained
Apply aseptic technique for treatments (sterile dressings, dressings, cauterizations) and monitor for adverse reactions
Communicate effectively with the team and supervise/coordinate ancillary staff when needed; participate in discharge planning and patient teaching
On-call duties may be required based on location and agency needs
