About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, precisely fitted eyewear that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The optician supports customers with optical needs and prescriptions, contributes optical expertise to the team, and helps maintain store standards and achieve brand performance goals.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
State licensure.
Optical dispensing experience.
Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
Knowledge of current store merchandise.
Strong basic math skills.
Awareness of current fashion trends.
Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
Demonstrate optical expertise and support the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure finished eyewear meets quality standards and customer needs.
Use technology and appropriate tools accurately, even under time pressure and during high customer volume.
Apply product knowledge and resolve customer issues by identifying root causes and finding solutions.
Manage multiple tasks, priorities, and competing time demands.
Work toward exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
Follow company policies and procedures, including those relating to discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
