About The Position
The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, precisely crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The optician welcomes customers, custom-fits glasses, places prescriptions accurately in lenses, takes and records measurements, and adjusts eyewear to meet quality standards and customer needs. The role also supports colleagues with complex product needs and prescriptions, uses technology and appropriate tools accurately, and contributes to store results, appearance, organization, and safety.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
- Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and set expectations.
- Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical knowledge.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately despite time pressure and customer volume; apply product knowledge and appropriate tools.
- Explore root causes of issues, anticipate needs, resolve problems, and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage competing demands on time.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
- Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Pursue continual learning and improvement while remaining resourceful, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
