About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The Optician helps customers with their eyewear needs and delivers an exceptional experience, whether assisting longtime Warby Parker customers or first-time wearers. The role involves becoming an expert on the brand and its glasses, helping customers select frames and lenses, and ensuring eyewear is fitted accurately and meets optical standards and customer requirements. The Optician also works collaboratively with teammates, contributes to consistent sales and customer-service practices, and represents Warby Parker’s values and mission. Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require licensure, or an ABO-certified optician in states that do not require licensure.
• Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an accessible way.
• Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be extremely detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded, committed to learning, and willing to challenge existing knowledge.
• Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, and adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices for use throughout the organization.
• Represent the Warby Parker brand and educate others about its values and mission.
