About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team and help customers with their eyewear needs. The Optician will become an expert in the brand and its glasses, deliver exceptional service to longtime customers and first-time wearers, and help customers feel confident about their eyewear. The role works closely with collaborative teammates and includes access to career-advancing resources and benefits. The position focuses on customer eyewear services, including taking and recording measurements, adjusting and fitting eyewear, checking finished products against optical standards and customer requirements, explaining prescriptions and product offerings, and helping customers select suitable frames and lenses. The Optician also contributes to team service and sales practices and represents Warby Parker’s brand, values, and mission.

Requirements

Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an accessible way.
Be dedicated to exceeding the expectations of customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to address their eyewear needs.
Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented across the organization.
Represent the brand and educate others about Warby Parker’s values and mission.
