About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role helps customers meet their eyewear needs by delivering exceptional service, applying optical expertise, and helping customers feel excited and confident about their glasses. The Optician becomes knowledgeable about Warby Parker’s brand and products and works collaboratively with teammates in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment. Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require licensure, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
• Have a passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an accessible way.
• Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be extremely detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded and committed to continued learning.
• Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Collaborate with the team to provide exceptional customer service.
• Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, style, and lifestyle.
• Work with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented across the organization.
• Represent the Warby Parker brand and educate others about its values and mission.
