About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, precisely crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The optician contributes optical expertise, supports customers with complex product needs and prescriptions, and helps maintain an attractive, organized, and safe store while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Serve as a leader in optical knowledge and support the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and high customer volume, demonstrate product knowledge, and use appropriate tools.
• Identify root causes of issues, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction and expectations are exceeded.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time across competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve brand key performance indicators and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Pursue continual learning and improvement while working resourcefully and toward results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those concerning discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
