The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and carefully crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team building.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations for their experience.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely position prescriptions in lenses.
• Serve as a leader in optical knowledge.
• Take and record measurements; adjust and fit eyewear accurately, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and high customer volume, demonstrate product knowledge, and use appropriate tools.
• Proactively identify root causes of issues, find solutions, and ensure customers are satisfied and their expectations are exceeded.
• Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time across competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve brand key performance indicators and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Pursue continual learning, improvement, and results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
