About The Position

The Licensed Optician delivers LensCrafters’ brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing legendary service and well-crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations. The position requires optical dispensing experience, state licensure, strong customer service and product knowledge, and the ability to use relevant technology and tools. This is a full-time role at the LensCrafters store in Huntington Station, New York.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team building.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
• Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and set expectations.
• Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Serve as a leader in optical knowledge.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately, and ensure finished eyewear meets quality standards and customer needs.
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology and appropriate tools accurately, even under time pressure and high customer volume.
• Apply product knowledge and proactively identify the root causes of issues, find solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Multi-task, prioritize, and manage competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve brand key performance indicators and competencies.
• Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Pursue continuous learning, improvement, and results.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
