About The Position
The Licensed Optician delivers LensCrafters’ brand value proposition and helps establish the company as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing legendary service and high-quality eyewear that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The optician welcomes customers, fits and adjusts eyewear, takes precise measurements, handles prescriptions, supports complex product needs, and uses optical technology and tools accurately. The position also contributes to store performance, appearance, safety, and adherence to company procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
- Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and set expectations.
- Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Serve as a leader in optical knowledge and acumen.
- Take and record measurements and accurately adjust and fit eyewear, ensuring finished products meet standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology and appropriate tools accurately, including under time pressure and during high customer volume.
- Proactively identify root causes of issues and resolve them to satisfy customers and exceed expectations.
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage competing priorities.
- Work toward exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
- Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Pursue continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those for discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
