The Licensed Optician delivers the LensCrafters brand value proposition and helps establish the store as the premier destination for vision needs in the community. The role creates value for customers by providing exceptional service and high-quality, carefully crafted eyewear that exceeds expectations. The position combines optical dispensing expertise, customer service, product knowledge, and support for store operations.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators.
- Willingness to embrace new technology and change.

- Previous customer service and retail experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and set service expectations.
- Custom-fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Serve as a leader in optical knowledge.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure finished eyewear meets quality standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology and appropriate tools accurately, even under time pressure and high customer volume, while demonstrating exceptional product knowledge.
- Proactively identify root causes of issues, develop solutions, and work to exceed customer expectations.
- Multitask, prioritize, and manage time across competing priorities.
- Work toward exceptional results on brand key performance indicators and competencies.
- Help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Maintain a desire for continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
