Prava Therapy•Redlands, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Prava Therapy is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join their embedded therapy team at Mission Commons. This role is not traditional senior living therapy; instead, the therapist will become an integral part of the community, building relationships with residents, staff, and understanding the community's rhythms to provide more meaningful and functional therapy. The focus is on helping residents maintain independence in activities that are important to them, whether it's improving physical or cognitive function, adapting the environment, or helping residents regain confidence.

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Believes every intervention should have a functional purpose.
  • Believes occupation matters.
  • Believes the environment can be part of the solution.
  • Believes residents should be appropriately challenged—not underestimated.
  • Believes caregiver education is part of treatment.
  • Believes outcomes matter more than minutes.
  • Believes dignity and autonomy are clinical priorities.
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and partnering with caregivers.
  • Curious, creative, and willing to think beyond traditional treatment approaches.
  • Enjoys senior living and believes residents deserve therapy that respects the lives they've built.
  • Wants to work somewhere their clinical judgment is valued.
  • Wants to be part of a therapy model that is modern, technology-enabled, and deeply human.
  • Wants their work to have an impact beyond the treatment session.

Nice To Haves

  • Sees occupation—not diagnosis—as the heart of their work.
  • Enjoys building genuine relationships with residents and families.
  • Wants to practice OT differently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, individualized occupational therapy based on each resident's goals, needs, interests, and daily routines.
  • Evaluate and treat residents across a range of functional, cognitive, and physical needs.
  • Develop meaningful plans of care focused on participation, independence, safety, and quality of life.
  • Address ADLs, IADLs, cognition, balance, functional mobility, upper-extremity function, and environmental barriers as appropriate.
  • Help residents participate in the activities and routines that give their days meaning.
  • Recognize changes in function and communicate concerns proactively with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Partner with caregivers and community staff to reinforce strategies beyond the therapy session.
  • Provide education that helps the people around the resident support greater independence.
  • Build strong relationships with residents and families.
  • Collaborate with the broader Prava therapy team and community care team.
  • Document thoughtfully and efficiently using Prava's technology and AI-enabled tools.
  • Measure outcomes that matter—not simply minutes or visits.
  • Help create a therapy culture that is visible, responsive, and integrated into the community.

Benefits

  • Technology, clinical standards, AI-enabled documentation, credentialing, billing and revenue cycle support, and operational systems that help clinicians focus on exceptional resident care.
  • Support of a modern therapy organization without losing autonomy and connection.
