About The Position

A-MAX Insurance is hiring a Licensed Insurance Producer to help customers with insurance needs and support the company’s sales and growth. The role is based in-office in Bakersfield, California. A-MAX provides training, licensing-cost coverage, ongoing support, and career advancement opportunities. Compensation is whichever is higher: hourly pay or up to 55% uncapped commission.

Requirements

• Hold a valid, current California Personal Lines or Property & Casualty license.
• Have reliable transportation for daily marketing.
• Have basic computer knowledge and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision and quickly learn company or proprietary software.
• Demonstrate a strong sales mentality, desire to succeed, organizational skills, and customer focus.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service or insurance sales experience preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with new insurance policies, policy changes, payments, renewals, reinstatements, and questions.
• Inspect vehicles and assess their general condition, age, and other characteristics to determine whether they are acceptable insurance risks.
• Seek new clients, generate prospective-client lists, and develop clientele through networking and marketing.
• Work with the office manager to develop marketing strategies to attract customers.
• Perform administrative tasks, handle policy renewals, and contact underwriting to complete policies.
• Assist with daily housekeeping routines.
• Complete continuing education courses as required to maintain an active license with the California Department of Insurance.
