About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager (Assistant Salon Leader) supports the Salon Leader in managing salon operations and team performance while continuing to provide salon services. The role combines working behind the chair with leadership development and business responsibilities. When the Salon Leader is absent, the Assistant Salon Leader leads the salon.

The position includes supporting daily operations, managing the appointment book in Zenoti, mentoring stylists, helping new team members onboard, and contributing to scheduling and salon profitability. The Assistant Salon Leader also helps maintain a positive salon culture, ensure compliance with State Board and OSHA standards, and execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.

This is a full-time leadership role requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation is performance-based and may include service and retail commissions and tips. The position is available in DE, FL, IL, IN, MD, NJ, NC, PA, VA, and WV.

Requirements

• Current cosmetology license for the state where applying.
• Ability to work full time, at least 40 hours per week.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and dexterity to perform salon services precisely.
• Basic math skills for inventory and cash handling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to bring personal equipment to work daily.

Responsibilities

• Support daily salon operations and lead the salon when the Salon Leader is absent.
• Manage the appointment book using Zenoti and help ensure a positive guest experience.
• Mentor and coach stylists using the IGROW model to support their goals and career growth.
• Help maintain a positive and productive salon culture and lead by example with the Guest Journey.
• Assist with strategic scheduling, performance tracking, and learning how to operate a profitable salon.
• Welcome and onboard new team members.
• Help ensure the salon meets State Board and OSHA standards.
• Help execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.
