About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager (Assistant Salon Leader) supports the Salon Leader and helps oversee daily salon operations while continuing to provide salon services. The role combines work behind the chair with leadership development, team mentoring, guest experience, scheduling, and business performance responsibilities. When the Salon Leader is absent, the Assistant Salon Leader takes charge of the salon. The position is full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation is performance-based and may include service and retail commissions and tips; all compensation meets applicable wage laws.

Requirements

Current cosmetology license for the state where applying.
Commitment to a full-time schedule of at least 40 hours per week.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and dexterity to perform salon services precisely.
Basic math skills for inventory and cash handling.
Strong communication skills.
Personal equipment must be brought to work daily.

Responsibilities

Support daily salon operations, including managing the appointment book in Zenoti.
Help ensure guests have a positive experience and leave satisfied.
Mentor and coach fellow stylists using the IGROW model to support their goals and career development.
Lead by example in delivering the Guest Journey and fostering a positive, productive salon culture.
Help analyze performance statistics and contribute to strategic scheduling and profitable salon operations.
Welcome and onboard new team members through the Smart Start process.
Help ensure the salon complies with State Board and OSHA standards.
Help execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.
Take charge of the salon when the Salon Leader is absent.
Perform salon services while supporting leadership and management responsibilities.
