About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager (Assistant Salon Leader) supports the Salon Leader in running salon operations while continuing to provide salon services. The role combines working behind the chair with leadership development and business management responsibilities. When the Salon Leader is absent, the Assistant Salon Manager leads the salon.

The position helps maintain a positive, productive salon culture; mentors and coaches stylists; supports guest service and the guest journey; and contributes to salon performance through scheduling, performance tracking, onboarding, and marketing. The role also supports compliance with State Board and OSHA standards.

This is a full-time leadership role requiring at least 40 hours per week. Compensation is performance-based and may include service and retail commissions and tips. The position is available in DE, FL, IL, IN, MD, NJ, NC, PA, VA, and WV.

Requirements

• Current cosmetology license for the state where applying.
• Commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and dexterity to perform salon services precisely.
• Basic math skills for inventory and cash handling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Bring personal equipment daily and be prepared to use it.

Responsibilities

• Support daily salon operations and manage the appointment book using Zenoti.
• Lead salon operations when the Salon Leader is absent.
• Provide salon services while serving as a leader and role model for the team.
• Mentor and coach stylists using the IGROW model to support their goals and career growth.
• Help maintain a positive and productive salon culture and model the Guest Journey.
• Contribute to salon performance by reviewing performance statistics and supporting strategic scheduling.
• Help welcome and onboard new team members.
• Help ensure the salon complies with State Board and OSHA standards.
• Help execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.
