About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager (Assistant Salon Leader) supports the Salon Leader in managing salon operations and leads the team when the Salon Leader is away. The role combines providing salon services with developing leadership and business skills. The Assistant Salon Manager helps maintain a positive, productive salon culture, supports guest service, mentors stylists, and contributes to salon performance and profitability. The position is full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation is based on performance and may include service and retail commissions and tips; all compensation meets wage law requirements. Hair Cuttery Family of Brands describes itself as the largest privately owned salon group in the U.S., with more than 500 salons. The role may provide a path toward leading a salon or becoming a master educator.

Requirements

Hold a current cosmetology license for the state where applying.
Commit to a full-time schedule of at least 40 hours per week.
Have the physical stamina to stand for long periods and the dexterity to perform salon services precisely.
Have basic math skills for inventory and cash-related tasks.
Have strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Bring personal equipment daily.

Responsibilities

Support daily salon operations and manage the appointment book using Zenoti.
Provide salon services while supporting guest satisfaction and the Guest Journey.
Lead by example and help maintain a positive and productive salon culture.
Coach and mentor fellow stylists using the IGROW model to support their goals and career growth.
Help review performance statistics and contribute to strategic scheduling and salon profitability.
Welcome and help onboard new team members through the Smart Start process.
Help ensure the salon meets State Board and OSHA standards.
Help execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.
