Leasing Director
About The Position
Cafaro is seeking a driven Leasing Director to manage leasing efforts for assigned properties across its national shopping center portfolio. The role works strategically and collaboratively with the Leasing team and tenants, and independently manages the leasing process from prospecting through lease execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, willing to go the extra mile, and passionate about sales and deal-making. The position includes attracting national, regional, and local retailers and restaurants; preparing analyses for new developments, redevelopments, and tenant-specific opportunities; and overseeing proposals, proformas, budgets, and feasibility analyses. The Leasing Director also builds relationships to source new business, collaborates with internal departments, and implements creative strategies to add value to existing assets. The role is based at Cafaro’s headquarters in the Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles, Ohio.
Requirements
- Ideally, 3+ years of experience in shopping center leasing, including lease negotiations and a strong network of industry relationships.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Excellent priority-setting, decisiveness, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment at Cafaro’s headquarters in Niles, Ohio.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or relevant experience in shopping center leasing; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lease available space within the Cafaro portfolio and manage leasing efforts for assigned properties.
- Independently manage the leasing process from prospecting through lease execution.
- Proactively canvass markets to attract national, regional, and local retailers and restaurants.
- Prepare analyses for new developments, redevelopments, and tenant-specific opportunities.
- Guide and oversee the preparation of project proposals, proformas, budgets, and feasibility analyses, including determining time and funding requirements.
- Build and cultivate relationships to source new business nationally and within the trade areas of Cafaro’s shopping centers.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful outcomes.
- Implement creative, non-traditional strategies that add value to existing assets.
