About The Position

Roers Companies is hiring a Leasing Consultant I to support leasing, resident relations, and property operations at a multifamily community. The role focuses on meeting occupancy and rental goals through outreach, marketing, prospect communication, and property tours. It also assists with rent collection, property financial performance, resident records, unit inspections, and community events. The position requires working five days per week, including Saturdays. Workdays may vary according to staffing and property needs. Physical duties may include walking the property and climbing up to four flights of stairs for inspections, resident communications, and apartment tours, as well as driving to local businesses for outreach marketing. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record report and complete the required applicant survey.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of leasing and/or sales experience.
Experience with affordable housing procedures.
Ability to work 5 days per week, including Saturdays.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, internet, email, and social media as used in property marketing.
Organization, attention to detail, and good time-management skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, with workdays varying according to staffing and property needs.
Entrepreneurial mindset: collaborative, inquisitive, self-motivated, determined, receptive to challenges, and focused on clients and teammates.
High integrity; must be trusted, direct, truthful, confident, and able to admit mistakes.
Ability to perform physical duties that may include walking the property, climbing up to 4 flights of stairs, conducting inspections, delivering resident communications, showing apartments, and driving to area businesses for outreach marketing.

Responsibilities

Actively solicit business to achieve the property's occupancy and rental goals.
Reach prospective residents through advertising and respond to phone inquiries, internal leads, and property tours.
Lead property tours and showcase the community's amenities.
Lead rent collection efforts, particularly with delinquent residents; this may involve lease termination and legal action when necessary.
Assist with the property budget by making sound financial decisions that increase the community's net operating income.
Help maintain accurate resident ledgers and files.
Inspect units during move-ins and move-outs, and walk units and the community as needed.
Coordinate community events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
