The Leasing Community Intern delivers high-quality customer service to residents and prospective residents, collaborates with the community team, and supports efforts to achieve full occupancy through resident retention, leasing available apartments, and pre-leasing future availability. This is a temporary, non-exempt position compensated hourly, with eligibility for bonuses. Interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, and may have on-call duties such as handling lock-outs and conducting nightly rounds. Interns must re-apply annually; previous employment does not guarantee rehire. The role includes administrative front desk duties, leasing and application paperwork, maintaining accurate lease files, helping plan community events, and assisting with community projects. Interns participate in required leasing and company training, pass third-party leasing shops, and earn Cardinal Way of Leasing certification. The position works both inside and outside apartment buildings, throughout the property and its amenities, with frequent exposure to outdoor elements and potentially unpleasant or hazardous conditions. The role requires accessing all areas of the property in varied weather, occasional local travel, and physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting, reaching, and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
