The Leasing Community Intern delivers high-quality customer service to residents and prospective residents, collaborates with the community team, and supports efforts to maintain full occupancy through resident retention, leasing available apartments, and pre-leasing future availability. The role includes administrative and front desk work, leasing activities, community events, and other projects assigned by the Community Manager. Interns participate in required leasing and company training, and must pass third-party leasing shops and earn Cardinal Way of Leasing certification. This is a temporary, non-exempt position scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week. Interns are required to work evenings and weekends and have on-call duties such as lock-outs and nightly rounds. Interns must be current or future leaseholders at the community and live on a designated community floor. They must re-apply annually; prior employment does not guarantee rehiring. The role involves working indoors and outdoors throughout the property, including apartment buildings and amenities, with frequent exposure to potentially unpleasant or hazardous weather, temperatures, odors, and landscape conditions. Physical duties include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, accessing all areas of the property, and pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, or maneuvering up to 40 pounds. Rare local travel may be required to support properties or attend training.
