The Leasing Community Intern provides high-quality customer service to residents and prospective residents, collaborates with the community team, and supports efforts to maintain full occupancy through resident retention, leasing available apartments, and pre-leasing future availability. The role includes leasing, administrative, customer-service, community-event, and property-support duties. Interns are temporary, non-exempt employees, are eligible for hourly compensation and bonus, and are scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week. Evening and weekend availability is required, including on-call responsibilities such as lock-outs and nightly rounds. The intern must be enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program, have completed at least one year there, maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, and be a current or future leaseholder at the community. The intern must live on a designated community floor as assigned by the Community Manager. Community Interns must reapply annually; previous employment does not guarantee rehiring. The role is performed both inside and outside apartment buildings and throughout the property, including amenities. It involves exposure to weather and other potentially unpleasant or hazardous outdoor conditions. The position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping or squatting, and the ability to access all areas of the property. The employee must be able to handle, push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver up to 40 pounds. Rare local travel may be required to assist other properties or attend training.
