The Leasing Community Intern provides high-quality customer service to residents and prospective residents while working collaboratively with the community team. The role supports the community’s occupancy goals through resident retention, leasing available apartments, and pre-leasing future availability. It includes front desk and administrative duties, leasing activities, lease documentation, community events, and other projects assigned by the Community Manager. Interns participate in required Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U training, must pass third-party leasing shops and become Cardinal Way of Leasing certified, and have on-call responsibilities such as lock-outs and nightly rounds. The position is temporary and non-exempt, with an hourly rate and bonus eligibility. Interns are required to work evenings and weekends and are scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week. They must re-apply annually; previous employment does not guarantee rehiring. The position works both inside and outside apartment buildings, throughout the property and amenities, and may involve frequent exposure to weather, temperatures, odors, and landscaping conditions that may be unpleasant or hazardous. Rare local travel may be required to assist other properties or attend training. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
