The Leasing Community Intern delivers high-quality customer service to residents and prospective residents, collaborates with the team, and supports efforts to achieve full occupancy through resident retention, leasing available apartments, and pre-leasing future availability. The role includes front desk and administrative work, leasing activities, lease documentation, community events, and other projects assigned by the Community Manager. Interns participate in required leasing and company training, must pass third-party leasing shops, and become certified in the Cardinal Way of Leasing. The position includes on-call duties such as lock-outs and nightly rounds, and requires evening and weekend availability. This is a temporary, non-exempt position with an hourly rate and bonus eligibility. Interns are scheduled approximately 20 hours per week and must reapply annually. Previous employment does not guarantee rehire; exceptions may be granted by a Portfolio Manager. The work takes place inside and outside apartment buildings and throughout the property, including amenities. The role involves frequent exposure to outdoor conditions, including potentially unpleasant or hazardous temperatures, weather, odors, and landscaping. Rare local travel may be required to assist properties or attend training.
