About The Position

Hypertec is seeking a Learning & Talent Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Montreal, Québec. This role involves conducting training needs assessments, designing and facilitating training programs, supporting onboarding and skill development, and managing the Learning Management System (LMS). Additionally, the specialist will support talent review, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives, while also promoting a growth mindset and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 5 years of experience in L&D or talent development, strong facilitation and instructional design skills, and experience with LMS and e-learning tools. Fluency in French is essential for this role, as it supports a bilingual workforce and requires the design and delivery of inclusive programs in both English and French.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in L&D, talent development, or a similar HR function.
  • Strong facilitation and instructional design skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners.
  • Experience managing learning programs and systems (LMS, e-learning tools like Articulate).
  • Takes initiative, follows through on projects, and drives programs forward with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with leaders.
  • Demonstrates empathy, self-awareness, and tact in navigating sensitive performance, feedback, or development conversations.
  • Fluency in French is essential to ensure full engagement, effective facilitation, and alignment with regional compliance and cultural needs. This role supports employees and leaders across our bilingual workforce and is responsible for designing and delivering training, development programs, and communications that are accessible and inclusive in both English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs assessments aligned with business objectives and performance priorities to identify learning priorities.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate engaging training courses and programs (in-person, virtual, and e-learning). Develop supporting materials such as guides, toolkits, and learning paths.
  • Support onboarding, compliance training, and ongoing skill development initiatives.
  • Leverage data and feedback to continuously improve learning programs and delivery methods.
  • Maintain and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS); track completion and engagement metrics.
  • Support annual talent review, succession planning, and development planning processes.
  • Identify and support the growth of high-potential employees and successors for critical roles.
  • Support the identification and development of high-potential employees and emerging leaders. Collaborate on the design and delivery of leadership development initiatives for emerging and experienced leaders.
  • Coordinate mentorship programs that promote knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Monitor talent development KPIs and provide insights to leadership on trends and opportunities.
  • Promote manager capability through learning experiences that reinforce accountability, feedback, and coaching.
  • Support employee engagement action planning and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Champion a learner-driven, growth-oriented mindset across the organization.
