Learning Management System Application Architect
About The Position
At Accenture Federal Services, the Learning Management System Application Architect serves as the subject matter expert for maintaining and optimizing Totara and Moodle learning management systems. The role architects and implements enhancements to ensure the platforms are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational needs. It analyzes existing system configurations, identifies improvements, and leads technical execution of upgrades while minimizing user disruption and enabling seamless integration with existing infrastructure. The architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions for evolving project needs. Managing large-scale application upgrades, automating deployment processes, and maintaining system reliability are central to the position. The role calls for hands-on Linux, PHP, and AWS deployment experience, familiarity with Moodle and Totara features and upgrade paths, and knowledge of LMS architecture, security, and performance optimization.
Requirements
- Technical expertise in Totara or Moodle.
- Proficiency with Linux.
- Strong PHP programming skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments, PHP development, and cloud-based deployments using AWS.
- Familiarity with Moodle and Totara features and upgrade paths.
- Exposure to best practices in LMS architecture, system security, and performance optimization.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Ansible or other automation tools.
- Experience with containerized deployments of Totara and/or Moodle.
- Experience with AWS.
