Requirements
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) is required.
- Active State license in good standing, DEA license, and other state credentials as required.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained.
- 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred.
- Ability to multitask with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
- Outstanding listening and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for helping people and pets with compassion and excellent customer service focus.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.
Responsibilities
- Empower the team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
- Develop rapport with clients and address their needs and wishes.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Master medical skills and perform basic surgery.
- Explain physical examination findings, communicate diagnoses, and present treatment plans to clients.
- Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure logs are up-to-date.
- Assist colleagues with patient follow-up and future management.
- Stay current with new medical information and advancements in veterinary medicine by attending continuing education meetings.
- Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure high-quality care.
- Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
- Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants as needed.
- Participate in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
- Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
- Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies.
- Travel may be required for this position.
