Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) is required.
  • Active State license in good standing, DEA license, and other state credentials as required.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained.
  • 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred.
  • Ability to multitask with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
  • Outstanding listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment.
  • Passion for helping people and pets with compassion and excellent customer service focus.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.

Responsibilities

  • Empower the team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
  • Develop rapport with clients and address their needs and wishes.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Master medical skills and perform basic surgery.
  • Explain physical examination findings, communicate diagnoses, and present treatment plans to clients.
  • Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure logs are up-to-date.
  • Assist colleagues with patient follow-up and future management.
  • Stay current with new medical information and advancements in veterinary medicine by attending continuing education meetings.
  • Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
  • Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants as needed.
  • Participate in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
  • Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
  • Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies.
  • Travel may be required for this position.
