About The Position

Coastal Veterinary Care is seeking a Lead Veterinarian for its brand-new small animal practice in Swansea, Massachusetts. The role combines clinical practice with leadership and mentorship, and offers the opportunity to help build the hospital from the ground up. The Lead Veterinarian will shape the hospital’s culture, medical standards, workflows, protocols, and team development, working closely with hospital leadership and operations partners to foster a collaborative, supportive environment focused on high-quality medicine and exceptional client care. The position is part of the COVE Animal Health network, which provides access to a community of hospitals, specialists, leadership resources, and continuing education opportunities while supporting the locally driven character of the practice. The hospital is near Providence, Rhode Island, and within driving distance of Boston.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of veterinarians and support staff.
Establish and uphold high medical and ethical standards.
Help design workflows, protocols, and team culture for a new hospital.
Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical practice.
Collaborate with nearby sister hospitals and specialists within the network.
Work with hospital leadership and operations partners to support team development and exceptional client care.
