About The Position

McAfee is seeking a Lead Product Manager to own its subscription management platform: the capabilities, business rules, and services that support purchasing, upgrading, downgrading, renewing, sharing, and retaining subscriptions across the McAfee ecosystem. This is a senior, high-ownership individual-contributor role responsible for setting the direction of a strategic eCommerce platform domain and building the decisioning, lifecycle, and packaging services used across the business. The role leads the platform strategy and roadmap across subscription lifecycle management, decisioning, retention, and packaging. It includes developing scalable capabilities for renewals, upgrades and downgrades, add-ons and cross-sell, proration, trial-to-paid transitions, cancellations, entitlement changes, user and membership management, and plan experimentation. The Lead Product Manager will collaborate with teams responsible for customer-facing experiences and partner with Engineering, Payments, Pricing, Finance, Marketing, and Analytics to deliver cohesive eCommerce capabilities. The role owns outcomes including renewal rate, retention, bookings, and ARPU, and represents the domain in planning and leadership forums. It requires balancing customer experience, business outcomes, platform modernization, technical debt, and new capabilities. The position is an individual-contributor role with broad influence across teams and multi-quarter initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of subscription, billing, membership, payments, or monetization platform products.
  • Experience building platform capabilities used by multiple downstream teams.
  • Experience with complex lifecycle systems and business-rule or decisioning engines.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous business requirements into clean, scalable product models and lifecycle states.
  • Track record of balancing customer experience with business outcomes such as retention, renewal, and ARPU.
  • Comfort discussing subscription states, entitlements, billing systems, and event-driven and API-based platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across engineering, finance, analytics, retention, marketing, and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to set strategy, align stakeholders, and make complex systems understandable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying AI to subscription decisioning to move business KPIs without compromising customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set the subscription platform strategy and translate it into a prioritized, sequenced roadmap with measurable goals across lifecycle, decisioning, retention, and packaging.
  • Own subscription lifecycle capabilities for renewals, upgrades and downgrades, add-ons and cross-sell, co-termination and proration, trial-to-paid transitions, cancellation, and entitlement changes.
  • Develop centralized decisioning capabilities for eligibility, billing implications, offer targeting, multiple subscription management, and orchestration across channels, including AI-powered solutions.
  • Partner with Product and Marketing to build subscriber save capabilities, downgrade logic, and AI-driven discounting.
  • Define platform capabilities for transitions between profiles, primary account holder management, individual-to-family and partner plan growth, and member lifecycle scenarios.
  • Develop plan and subscription management capabilities involving user and entitlement engines, primary and secondary members, plan changes, and flexible entitlement decoupling from core offer models.
  • Own and connect platform investments to renewal rate, retention, bookings, and ARPU outcomes.
  • Partner with Engineering, Payments, Pricing, Finance, Marketing, and Analytics to ship cohesive eCommerce capabilities.
  • Prioritize new capabilities, technical debt, and customer-experience improvements.
  • Represent the subscription domain in planning and leadership forums, making recommendations grounded in data and customer insight.
  • Lead packaging and plan experimentation, including migration and transition paths between plans, user-based plan architectures, and new monetization models.
  • Modernize centralized, scalable eCommerce products and capabilities used throughout the company.
