About The Position

Capgemini is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) Sales Engineer for a high-impact, solution-selling and deal-capture organization. This is a senior, client-facing technical sales role that combines solution architecture, commercial strategy, pursuit leadership, and deal capture; it is not a pure pre-sales support role. The position partners with Business Unit sellers, Client Partners, Group Client Partners, and account teams to shape and win opportunities across Data Center Transformation and Infrastructure Services, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Workplace Services, Enterprise Service Management, and SAP/COTA App Hosting. The role becomes involved after opportunities are identified by BU teams and brings technical and deal-making expertise to improve solution quality, competitiveness, and win rate. The successful candidate combines enterprise architecture expertise with technical CIS sales experience. They translate client business priorities and functional and non-functional requirements into differentiated, scalable, commercially sound solutions, and help Capgemini Americas win profitable deals and generate sustainable growth. The role leads CIS solution selling and deal shaping from advanced qualification through proposal, negotiation support, and close. It architects single- and multi-tower solutions, advises clients on technical and commercial options, contributes to solution economics and pricing, and works across sales, delivery, alliance, portfolio, and subject-matter teams. It also supports pursuit governance, proposal quality, forecasting, CRM hygiene, and reuse of solution assets and best practices. The role is hybrid and based in New York or New Jersey, USA.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in sales engineering, technical pre-sales, technical solutions management, enterprise solution architecture, or solution selling in cloud, infrastructure, outsourcing, project-based, or managed services environments.

  • Strong knowledge of managed services and infrastructure outsourcing operating models.
  • Strong knowledge of the use of AI in infrastructure and workplace services operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, enterprise service management, workplace services, and service integration concepts.
  • Ability to engage credibly in architecture-level and operational discussions with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort working in a matrixed, global organization across multiple sales, delivery, and portfolio stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Design end-to-end solutions across one or more CIS service lines: Data Center Transformation and Infrastructure Services, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Workplace Services, Enterprise Service Management, and SAP/COTA App Hosting.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are technically credible, feasible to deliver, scalable, operationally sound, financially responsible, and aligned with client business case and ROI needs.
  • Coordinate across service towers and subject-matter experts to integrate services into a coherent client proposition.
  • Engage CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, infrastructure and operations VPs, and transformation stakeholders to understand business drivers, pain points, constraints, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate technical architectures into business value, executive narratives, and clear options for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead client workshops, whiteboarding sessions, solution reviews, and technical presentations.
  • Contribute to solution economics, pricing inputs, effort assumptions, commercial risk identification, and margin-aware design decisions.
  • Balance competitiveness, value creation, delivery integrity, and contribution margin in proposed solutions.
  • Partner with sales professionals, client partners, generalist sales teams, delivery leaders, architects, portfolio leaders, alliance partners, and subject-matter experts to advance deals.
  • Bring CIS portfolio expertise into field-originated opportunities without duplicating origination ownership, and align what is sold and proposed with what can be delivered successfully.
  • Evangelize CIS capabilities in client discussions, internal account planning, strategic pursuits, workshops, and industry-facing sessions.
  • Bring thought leadership, market insight, and technical credibility to position Capgemini as a strategic transformation partner.
