About The Position

Safety-Kleen in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Utility Driver/Driver Lead. The Utility Driver provides primary route coverage for the assigned district and supports other districts as needed, including coverage for vacation, sick time, and turnover. The role picks up waste oil from customer locations, prepares waste loads for shipment to oil terminals, and helps ensure waste and oil are stored safely. The driver also serves as a backup for routes and mentors and trains other drivers. The position involves visiting and servicing more than eight customers per day.

Requirements

• Class B CDL required.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements upon hire.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to train and mentor others on job responsibilities.
• Excellent safety record.
• Strong communication skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Class A CDL strongly preferred.
• Previous route service driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and act safely at all times.
• Provide safe, friendly, punctual, quality customer service.
• Pick up waste oil at customer locations using a Class B tanker truck, box truck, and/or lube delivery truck.
• Mentor and train other drivers.
• Prepare waste loads for shipment to oil terminals.
• Serve as a backup driver to cover routes when needed.
• Ensure waste and oil are stored safely and properly.
• Visit and service more than eight customers per day.
