About The Position

Elmora Hills Healthcare in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is seeking a dependable part-time Laundry Aide to join its nursing home team. The position is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident clothing and facility linens while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laundry environment. The Laundry Aide also assists with housekeeping duties as needed and provides courteous service to residents, families, and staff.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to push and pull laundry carts and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold resident clothing and facility linens.
Distribute clean laundry to residents and designated areas.
Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident.
Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow infection control and safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry department.
Report damaged linens, equipment issues, or supply needs to the supervisor.
Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
Provide courteous service to residents, families, and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
