About The Position

The purpose of the Laundry Aide position is to maintain clean clothing and linens for resident use. The Laundry Aide carries out departmental duties including gathering, sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, and return of resident clothing and linens. Services should be organized to be most effective and efficient. The Laundry Aide maintains organization, cleanliness, and timely service.

Requirements

Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Not having been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting.

Responsibilities

Gathering, sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, and returning resident clothing and linens.
Maintaining organization, cleanliness, and timely service within the laundry department.
Reporting issues with the working order, cleanliness, and safety of department equipment (laundry carts, washers, dryers, mixing units, etc.).
Ensuring clothes are properly labeled to maintain resident dignity.
Ensuring clothes are returned to the correct resident and neatly stored.
Noting signage on a resident's closet if family members are doing the resident's laundry.
Assisting during emergencies by keeping clean linens and clothing available.
Acting in ways that promote a professional and positive representation of the facility to the community.
Communicating in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, and vendors.
Maintaining confidentiality of department, resident, and employee information, communication, and documentation, as well as compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Attending in-service training as required.
Clocking in and out for all working/training hours. Working off the clock will not be permitted.
Maintaining compliance with Legacy's Compliance program and plan.
Adhering to Legacy's Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
