About The Position

The Laundry Aide maintains clean clothing and linens for resident use. The role includes gathering, sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, and returning resident clothing and linens in an organized and efficient manner. The Laundry Aide maintains cleanliness and timely service, ensures residents’ clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident, and notes when family members handle a resident’s laundry. The aide reports equipment, cleanliness, and safety issues and assists during emergencies to keep clean linens and clothing available. The position also requires professional and courteous communication with residents, families, coworkers, and vendors; protecting confidential information and complying with HIPAA; attending required in-service training; accurately clocking all working and training hours; and complying with Legacy’s compliance program, Code of Conduct, and Dress Code. Duties may be adjusted according to facility needs.

Requirements

Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
Freedom from the use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Must not have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care-related setting.
No certificates, licenses, or registrations are required.

Nice To Haves

Laundry experience preferred.
Long-term care (LTC) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Gather, sort, wash, dry, fold, hang, and return resident clothing and linens efficiently.
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and timely laundry service.
Report issues with the working order, cleanliness, or safety of department equipment, including laundry carts, washers, dryers, and mixing units.
Ensure clothing is properly labeled to maintain resident dignity and returned to the correct resident, neatly stored.
Note signage indicating that family members are doing a resident’s laundry.
Assist during emergencies by keeping clean linens and clothing available.
Represent the facility professionally and positively to the community.
Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, families, coworkers, and vendors.
Maintain confidentiality of department, resident, and employee information, communication, and documentation, and comply with HIPAA.
Attend required in-service training.
Clock in and out for all working and training hours; do not work off the clock.
Comply with Legacy’s Compliance program and plan, Code of Conduct, and Dress Code.
