About The Position

The Landlord Engagement Specialist develops and maintains a portfolio of housing opportunities throughout the City of Los Angeles for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The position focuses on landlord outreach and relationship development, and on identifying available rental units that meet program eligibility and Fair Market Rent (FMR) requirements. It does not maintain a client caseload; instead, it builds partnerships with property owners, property management companies, brokers, and housing providers to expand housing inventory for TLS participants. The role works closely with Case Managers, Housing Navigators, Landlord Relations staff, and community partners to support housing placement and long-term housing stability. The specialist conducts landlord outreach, maintains housing inventory and availability information, analyzes rental markets and comparable units, and supports unit eligibility review, housing acquisition planning, inspections, and lease-up coordination. The position provides technical assistance to landlords and partners on program requirements, leasing processes, and benefits; maintains ongoing landlord communication; and records contacts, unit availability, and outcomes in Padmission Connect. It also ensures program compliance and confidentiality, reports on portfolio and placement outcomes, participates in meetings and training, supports housing acquisition projects, and performs additional duties as assigned.
