About The Position
The Laboratory Technician assists the Laboratory Supervisor with all aspects of laboratory testing. The role involves applying laboratory testing principles, practices, and procedures; performing materials testing on soils and concrete; and communicating and documenting test results. The position is offered full-time and part-time in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The work may involve variable outdoor conditions, including extreme heat or cold when needed. A physical examination is required to obtain medical clearance, and the technician must be able to stoop, kneel, and routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. A clean driving record and eligibility to be insured to drive company vehicles are also required.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of laboratory testing procedures for soils and concrete.
- Ability to perform materials testing on soils and concrete.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and routinely lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold if needed.
- Clean driving record and ability to be insured to drive company vehicles.
- Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, with time management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Clearly and neatly document laboratory test results in detail.
- Communicate daily with materials technicians and/or the Division Manager.
- Perform materials testing on soils and concrete.
- Apply basic knowledge of laboratory testing procedures for soils and concrete.
- Work independently and demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
