Labor & Employment Attorney
About The Position
Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice in its Sacramento, California office. The practice represents clients nationwide in employment litigation, counseling, and training. The attorney will provide legal services across labor and employment matters and have extensive contact with clients, government agencies, and opposing counsel. The role involves handling employment claims and litigation, including single-plaintiff matters, PAGA, wage-and-hour, and FEHA matters. Candidates should be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. The firm is also open to talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience in another area, a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law, and strong litigation skills.
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in California.
- One to fifteen years of experience in employment law matters, or substantive litigation experience in another area with a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law.
- Prior employment litigation experience is required; management-side experience is preferred.
- Experience handling single-plaintiff employment claims, PAGA, wage-and-hour, and FEHA matters.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Employment counseling or in-house employment law experience.
- Prior employment litigation experience on the management side.
