Labor & Employment Attorney
About The Position
The Los Angeles, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice. The attorney will provide legal services across labor and employment matters, with a significant role in litigation, counseling, and related work. The role involves extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel. The practice represents clients nationally in employment litigation, counseling, and training. The attorney will handle tasks such as drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. The position is suited to a proactive attorney who can work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to a sophisticated practice.
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in California.
- One to fifteen years of experience in employment law matters.
- Prior employment litigation experience, including experience handling single-plaintiff employment claims as well as PAGA, Wage & Hour, and FEHA matters.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law are relevant for developing attorneys, including those whose litigation experience is outside employment law.
