About The Position

A well-established national law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join its expanding practice in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take the next step in their career while working alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated employment matters and becoming part of a growing national practice. The practice offers exposure to a broad range of matters, including complex wage and hour litigation and high-stakes employment disputes. This role is particularly attractive for an attorney who enjoys both counseling and litigation and wants meaningful responsibility in a sophisticated practice.

Requirements

4–8 years of labor and employment experience
Experience with both employment counseling and litigation
Experience handling wage and hour class actions
Experience with single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination matters
Strong legal research and motion-drafting skills
Experience taking and defending depositions
Trial and/or substantial trial-preparation experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong academic and professional credentials
Active admission to the California Bar

Nice To Haves

Experience with restrictive covenants and/or traditional labor matters.

Responsibilities

Represent employers in a variety of labor and employment disputes
Research and analyze complex employment law issues
Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents
Take and defend depositions
Assist with trial preparation and, where applicable, trial proceedings
Advise clients on employment-related issues and risk
Collaborate with attorneys across a growing national Labor & Employment practice
Manage matters with increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction
