About The Position

The Kids Camp Attendant provides a friendly and safe atmosphere for members and children. The attendant registers and checks out children and parents, supervises and interacts with children, and organizes games and arts and crafts. Care may include bottle-feeding babies or assisting older children with eating according to parental direction. The role also involves keeping the childcare area clean and safe, communicating with parents or guardians, responding to childcare calls, and supporting members and club management. The position may report to the Child Care Director, Operations Manager, Assistant Manager, or Assistant General Manager, as applicable. The description may be changed or altered at any time.

Requirements

• Maintain valid Child/Infant CPR.
• Experience working with children.
• Hold certifications required by local or state laws.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong safety skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Able to lift 10 pounds on occasion.
• Able to stand, bend, and squat frequently.
• Able to climb and hang decorations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly atmosphere for members and children.
• Register and check out children and parents properly.
• Watch and care for children to ensure their safety.
• Interact consistently with children and initiate games and arts and crafts projects.
• Bottle-feed babies or assist older children with eating according to parental direction.
• Keep children calm.
• Clean and sanitize childcare toys.
• Keep the work area free of sharp or harmful objects.
• Answer the childcare phone.
• Communicate information regarding children to parents or guardians.
• Provide recommendations for toys, educational tools, and similar resources.
• Know, understand, and follow all policies, procedures, and standards, including those in the Employee Handbook.
• Facilitate member requests or forward them to a manager.
• Know the club facility and its services.
• Assist with projects delegated by club management.
• Attend annual staff meetings, monthly department meetings, and employee training meetings.
