About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Akron is hiring a Keyholder/Shift Supervisor to support its mission of helping individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment. The role includes operating cash register and point-of-sale systems, carrying out store opening and closing procedures, making nightly cash deposits as needed, and preparing accurate business and cash reports. The supervisor also evaluates donated textiles and other goods for resale, then sorts, hangs, tags, prices, and prepares items for sale. The position helps promote the development of service participants and supports a safe, clean, hazard-free work area by following safe equipment operating procedures. The role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
Ability to operate a cash register, perform stock duties, and provide customer service.
Basic mathematical skills.
Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
Excellent communication skills.
Reliability and a positive attitude, with pride in one's work.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Nice To Haves

A valid driver's license and proof of insurance (preferred).
Previous supervisory experience in customer service, with retail or food service experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
Perform store opening and closing procedures.
Make nightly cash deposits as needed.
Complete reports, including donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances.
Inspect textiles, items, and goods to determine saleability.
Sort, hang, tag, price, and prepare items for resale.
Help promote the development of service participants.
Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and operate equipment according to safe operating procedures.
