About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Akron seeks a goal-oriented Keyholder/Shift Supervisor to support its retail operations and community mission. The role operates cash registers and point-of-sale systems, performs opening and closing procedures, and makes nightly cash deposits as needed. It also involves completing reports and records, inspecting donated goods for saleability, and preparing items for resale by sorting, hanging, tagging, and pricing them. The Keyholder/Shift Supervisor helps promote the development of service participants and supports a safe, clean work area by following safe equipment operating procedures. The schedule is flexible and may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
Ability to operate a cash register, perform stock duties, and provide customer service.
Basic mathematical skills.
Self-motivation, teamwork, and ability to work efficiently while remaining aware of the surrounding environment.
Excellent communication skills, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are preferred.
Previous supervisory experience in customer service, with retail or food service experience, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Make nightly cash deposits as needed.
Complete donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposit records, and cash drawer balances.
Inspect textiles, items, and goods to determine saleability.
Sort, hang, tag, price, and prepare goods for resale.
Help promote the development of service participants.
Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and operate equipment safely.
