About The Position
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates Area Technology Centers that provide state-approved Career and Technical Education pathways. The Mayfield/Graves County Department of Juvenile Justice Area Technology Center in Mayfield, Kentucky, is hiring a Kentucky Tech Building and Construction Technology Instructor. This position is employed through OCTE under KRS Chapter 156 and is not subject to KRS 18A classified or unclassified service provisions. The instructor teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program. The selected applicant becomes a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System. Salary depends on qualifications, training, and experience. Applicants and employees may be required to complete a drug screening and background check.
Requirements
- Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught, or hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught.
- Have four years of appropriate work experience, with two years within the last five years.
- Be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area (NCCR, ABC, AGC). Applicants may be hired without the required personal certifications but must acquire them at the next available testing period.
