About The Position
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), operates Area Technology Centers that provide state-approved Career and Technical Education pathways. The Mayfield/Graves County Department of Juvenile Justice Area Technology Center in Mayfield, Kentucky, is hiring a Kentucky Tech Building and Construction Technology Instructor. The position is advertised under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE and is not subject to KRS 18A classified or unclassified service provisions. The instructor teaches occupational preparatory classes in a career and technical education program and performs other duties as required. The selected applicant becomes a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System. Salary depends on qualifications, training, and experience. Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to complete a drug screening test and background check.
Requirements
- Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught, or hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in that subject area.
- Have four years of appropriate work experience, including at least two years within the last five years.
- Be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area (NCCR, ABC, AGC). Candidates may be hired without the required personal certifications but must acquire them at the next available testing period.
