About The Position

The Boone Area Technology Center in Hebron, Kentucky, seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Electrical Instructor to teach occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program. The position is part of the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education, which operates Area Technology Centers serving Kentucky students and works with business and industry partners to prepare students for future careers. The role is advertised under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE and is not subject to KRS 18A classified or unclassified service provisions. The instructor will work in a dynamic, challenging, student-focused environment and help prepare students for postsecondary success. The selected applicant will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System. A drug screening and background check may be required. Applicants under contract with a local school district must provide written release from their superintendent before an offer can be extended.

Requirements

Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught, or a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in that subject area, or have four years of appropriate work experience, including two years within the last five years.
Be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area (A+Cert, NCCER, ABC, AGC, ASE). Applicants may be hired without the required personal certifications but must obtain them at the next available testing period.
